'White & Green' she says! I glanced over at Emily and with a big smile on my face said "Yes!"
I do love the elegance of white and green, but don’t be mistaken I didn’t want it to be all about the colour. With Alto the venue of choice it was all about creating a luxury look. Emily’s one request was that she wanted some of the flowers to be in tall vases.
They dined on long tables adorned with black tiffany chairs, I wanted to use the foliage in a luxurious way and the tones of the foliage were important. I wanted to see a light green contrast on dark green foliage, using white hydrangea with spots of green to bridge the gap perfectly in the tall foliage vases. I think sometimes white and green can be too contrasting, dark green can easily separate from the white, so building up a tonal palette means a more subtle approach on the eye.
Set low on the tables were vases of white peony and white hydrangea with individual menus wrapped around the napkins and elegant black boxes tied off with white ribbons – gifts for the guests to take home.
I left some wrapping and ribbons for guests to take the flowers home with them and continue to enjoy the celebrations.
